My hobby is running a trotline - mainly for the exercise so I don't sit on my butt too much. I put trotline in unlikely place to catch fish but sometimes I get an 'eater' - such as this 4 lb channel

I got the bait by throwing my 'cast net' around my brush pile where I chum with presoaked dry dog food

Windy - messing with my fishing

People that fight the wind are catching NICE crappie but I'm only fishing around my pier - I keep catching little 'baby' crappie - can't find any more really big ones around my place

I was hoping to join the 'fishing crowd' this AM - but there is another high wind / lake warning - so my boat is bouncing around in the boat house - while others catch my BIG crappie

So here I sit - bitching about the wind - while I've watched 3 boat loads of people riding the white caps / waves - I hope they catch the big ones cause they will earn them with this wind (15 - 30 mph - all day)

On well - I'll keep catching the little crappie around here just to make sure more big ones that move in - that is if I can keep the wind from blowing me off my fishing pier ;)
