Two more channel cats

Had to clean 6 today (4 + 2 more from last night) - and as of now have one in the pen for tonight

Four Channel catfish

Got 2 more between bedtime and 2AM = total for last night was 4 catfish - but still sad that I lost the big one. I usually look and when it's a small fish I just flop it over the rail (and children wire) on my pier. I was sleepy STUPID when I saw that the fish had pulled out most of the line on the yoyo I should have went for the net - right then ! !

Plenty of Channel Catfish

Yep I'm still catching small channel catfish and the little lady next door is having to freeze most - cause she is 'full of catfish' :)

Last night was a good night - got 4 more
1 - 1 lb
1 - 1.25 lb
1 - 1.5 lb
1 - 2 lb

But I had to rebait twice in middle of night (that's the nights I get the most) i.e. I got two early (before bed at 11:30pm) - then re-bait at 1:30AM - then again at 3AM when all 4 yoyo's were 'bare' - then got two when I got up at 6:00AM

Tonight I baited at 6PM - rebaited at 8:45PM and then at 11PM I got around to making a check and I had 3 catfish - BUT I lost the biggest one cause I was too lazy to walk in boat house and get the net (figured it was small one which I normally just 'flop' over the rail - but it was probably close to 4 lb and when I tried to lift it - it got loose - oh well the lady next door has plenty of fish in her freezer by now :)

I've rebaited but may not check again until AM

BTW: that's 13 channel catfish in last week (i.e. counting the two that didn't get away tonight - e.g. will be 13 in 7 nights if I don't catch another one by daylight.

I could go back and count the previous week's - but it was slower - probably only got 8-9 in previous week :)

Crappie for a change

I stopped trying to keep up with all the channel catfish I've been getting on my fishing pier (lately they are mostly small ones for neighbor)

But shad moved in to my fishing pier so I had to catch some (I'm lazy - I wait until crappie come to my house before I get enough to clean :)

As predicted - the crappie moved in - after the stupid yellow bass left out.

Also catfish on yoyo's - are feeding the little lady next door - for example got 5 in last 3 days - all 1 to 1.5 lbs (most average about 1.5 lbs or I throw them back)

Tomorrow I'm going to teach a neighbor lady how to fillet crappie (not sure how many I have right now - will probably make a youtube video just to prove I do catch crappie from time to time (most 1 lb or more - but not many 1.5lb - and none at 2 lb like last year (when they also moved in the shallow water around my fishing pier)

Addendum: When I typed this I had already checked yoyo's (4 with magic bait - 2 with bream) - and had a small (about 1 lb channel catfish) that I didn't mention - then after the 30 minute TV show I looked out again - and I already had another one - this one is more than 1.5 lbs so good thing I kept the first one (4 fillet is plenty for little lady next door - to fix for her lunch or supper) Just re baited the 4 magic bait yoyo's and realized the two fish are from yoyo very close to where I put out extra chum (more range cubes than usual) last few nights. Plus I noticed both of them had very large belly so I bet they are full of range cubes - in fact when we clean them tomorrow I plan to check i.e. I must be "baiting" all these little channel catfish in my brush pile (along with the shiner, shad, crappie and 'tons' of bream.
