Cut my normal 2 hour evening fishing trip short cause I got tired of turtles stealing my bait. I even wrapped the bait (liver and Secret-7) in cheese cloth and the turtles still stole the bait - I swear one big one had a huge grin on his face when he came up to see why I was taking so long to re-bait :(
Of all the bait I lost and bites I got - I don't think a single one was a fish - all were nibbles like a turtle - not even moving the end of the rod or the slip cork

Don't pay them any heed. Hatred for turtles is well justified. Just remember, the best revenge is to eat them. It will require your heated rage to get through the shell (after a thorough boiling), but it's well worth it.
