Too hot ! But got a 4 lb channel

Been so hot I seldom fish for an hour i.e. can't take the heat. Also the Secret-7 bait will not stay on the hook (trying all types of combinations :(

Today I waited until 7PM and planned to fish an hour at most.

But when I started fishing a guy next to me got a couple catfish within 15 minutes - then they stopped biting for him for about 45 minutes i.e. time for me to quit and I had gotten a single bite. In other words, I was trying to leave but the guy in the next boat got 3 more catfish and lost 3. (He boated 5 - lost 3)

Finally I was leaving mad cause he was using chicken liver fishing on the bottom and my Secret-7 did not get one bite. Then of course, I got a fish = a 4 lb channel catfish - so I had to stay 15 more minutes - and then clean it in poor light.

Summary: Chicken liver = 5 fish (most around 2 lb - one about 3 lb). Secret-7 one 4 lb'er

No catfish today

Too hot - wind light and from wrong direction (couldn't get to my spot) - Too hot - only fished 5:45PM to 6:45PM (too hot - and not one bite (water too hot bait falls off - end of excuses :)

Not going to be moving all post to Facebook - too many from you tube want to keep up and this blog is easy way

Today a storm interupted my fishing - I fished about 30 minutes and got two on Secret-7 - a 1 lb 5oz and a 2lb 10oz - after the cloud went around I went back and fished another hour - got one more 2lb 14oz

Summary: 3 more on Secret-7

Still doing sting bait test - today I waited until later (hoping wind would die down but it didn't). Went out at 6PM and had to stop at 8PM so I could clean fish before dark (one was dying and would not keep until AM)
All 3 were on Secret-7 stink bait. I has 5 lines out - one with catalpa worms - one with Magic bait - one with half magic/ half Secret-7 - two with Secret-7.

No bite day

I fished for 2 hours today - with four baits = catalpa worms, shad (from freezer), magic bait and Secret-7 stink bait. Only got a couple bites and those were small fish (probably bream) taking bite on catalpa worms

More Stink bait test

Getting mixed up - got 3 yesterday (2-1 Secret7 vs Magic) - got 2 day before yesterday (1 - 1) - oh heck I forgot Saturday - got 2 (1-1) - I should keep better records but main thing is Secret-7 is winning and today the only one on Magic bait was the 1 lb - and 8 lbs (total) for Secret7

Raising waxworms and catfish update

Now raising wax worms to catch bream to use on trotline.

Still been catching catfish on stink bait - fishing a couple hours each day and usually get 2 - 3 keepers - just not taking time to update blog or make video

I'm not as 'high' on Secret-7 bait as last post but it's still catching some fish - it's just that chicken liver chicken blood Magic bait has been better the last two days (got 2 on Magic bait yesterday and only one on Secret-7 - but none on catalpa (catawba) worms which I tried for first time this year.

Summary: next door neighbor getting all the catfish I catch cause most are less than 2 lbs

Haven't been fishing much lately - too hot - family health problems - too hot = fishing slow for everyone - but bored today so went out to try some new stink bait - works great IMHO

Was goofing around at 4PM - 6PM - testing Danny King bait vs Secret-7 bait - guess what I'm now a Secret-7 fan - got 5 catfish - one about ever 15 minutes cause I goofed off between catches :) Largest was 5 lbs 2oz - smallest was about a pound. Checked others = one at 1.5 lbs - one at 1.75lbs and one at 2 lbs 4 oz
